Regular Season Round 21: Yamanashi QB - Aishin AW 59-69

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Yamanashi QB (1-20) was defeated at home by ninth ranked Aishin Wings (6-15) 69-59 on Sunday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Guard Hitomi Takasaki (168-86) stepped up and scored 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and power forward Shiyu Sato (178-87) chipped in 10 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Four Aishin Wings players scored in double figures. Aishin Wings' coach Yamada Kagari used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was power forward Mika Okada (174-87) with 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and guard Saori Kanehara (164-87) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Aishin Wings maintains ninth place with 6-15 record. Yamanashi QB lost their eighth game in a row. They stay dead last with 20 lost games. They share the position with Ebara Vickies. Aishin Wings will meet higher ranked Mitsubishi K. (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Yamanashi QB will play against Ebara Vickies (#11) in Tokyo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
