Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Niigata Albirex (21-11) beat on the road 9th ranked Gunma (8-24) 92-74 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 92-74. Niigata Albirex made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Nile Murry (193-83, college: TCU) who helped to win the game recording 25 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import center Patrick Sullivan (206-88, college: SE Louisiana) who added 13 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Niigata Albirex players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American center Dillion Sneed (203-84, college: E.Tenn.St.) with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Kenya Tomori (177-84) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Niigata Albirex moved-up to second place, which they share with Hamamatsu P. Loser Gunma keeps the ninth position with 24 games lost. Niigata Albirex will face Shinshu BW (#3) in Nagano in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Gunma will play on the road against Tokyo Cinq R. (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
