Salerno used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Viterbo 71-57 on Sunday night. The game was mostly controlled by Salerno. Viterbo was better in third quarter 15-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Salerno dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Viterbo's 30. Salerno had a 33-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. Power forward Hairin Ribezzo (183-79) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds. The former international point guard Raelin D'Alie (168-87, college: Wisconsin) contributed with 17 points and 9 assists for the winners. Four Salerno players scored in double figures. Czech center Martina Rejchova (195-83) replied with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds and forward Anna Romagnoli (175-92) added 11 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Viterbo. Salerno will face Ferrara (#5) at home in the next round. Viterbo will play against Civitanova and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
