Lucca was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 30-17 charge of Matera, which allowed them to win the game. They were well out of reach of Lucca shooting 71.5 percent from the field and made 80-of-85 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. Matera forced 25 Lucca turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 30 long-distance shots on high 66.7 percentage. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Matera made 14 blocks. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Matera. They maintain second place with 14-7 record having just two points less than leader Agrigento, which they share with Ferrara. Lucca lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the seventh position with ten games lost. They share it with Treviglio and P.Mantovana. Matera will meet at home Ravenna (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lucca will play against P.Mantovana and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
