Regular Season Round 31: Fujian QB - Zhejiang CB 178-177 OT

Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank (#12) forced the game against Fujian (#10) into an overtime, but lost by one point 177-178. The hosts were ahead by 3 points but lost the second period ending it with a 3-point deficit before their 28-25 run, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 68-67. Fujian dominated down low during the game scoring 120 of its points in the paint compared to Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank's 86 and made 31-of-38 charity shots (81.6 percent) during the game. Fujian forced 19 Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank turnovers. Strangely Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank outrebounded Fujian 66-53 including 23 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Delonte West (192-83, college: St.Joseph's) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 11 assists. Iranian forward Mohammad Samad Nikkhah Bahrami (199-83) accounted for 37 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 11 assists for the winning side. American Mike Harris (198-83, college: Rice) came up with a double-double by scoring 55 points (!!!) and 17 rebounds and the other American import guard Dewarick Spencer (193-82, college: Arkansas St., agency: Higher Vision Sports) added 47 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 9 assists respectively for Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Fujian maintains tenth place with 15-16 record. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank at the other side keeps the twelfth position with 18 games lost. They share it with Sichuan BW. Fujian will play against higher ranked TianJin Steel (#6) in Tianjin in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank will play on the road against Shanghai Sharks (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
