Regular Season Round 19: MKS DG - Astoria Bydg. 70-72

A very interesting game took place in Dabrowa Gornicza. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 4th placed MKS DG (12-7) to tenth ranked Astoria Bydg. (5-14) 72-70 on Sunday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. MKS DG was ahead by 6 points after three quarters before a 22-14 charge of Astoria Bydg., which allowed them to win the game. Filip Malgorzaciak (188-93) fired 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Guard Piotr Robak (192-91) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Przemyslaw Szymanski (198-84, agency: Promotex) produced 30 points and 5 rebounds and forward Michal Woloszyn (201-84) added 11 points respectively for lost side. Astoria Bydg. maintains tenth place with 5-14 record. MKS DG lost their third game in a row. They keep the fourth position with seven games lost. Astoria Bydg.'s next round opponent will be higher ranked Stal Ostrow (#9) in Ostrow Wlkp. and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. MKS DG will play on the road against the league's second-placed Kutno (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
