Regular Season Round 21: P.Mantovana - Treviglio 74-66

There was a small surprise when tenth ranked P.Mantovana (11-10) beat 7th ranked Treviglio (11-10) in Mirandola 74-66. It looked good early as Treviglio took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then P.Mantovana had a 19-13 second period charge getting the lead and Treviglio was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 66-74. P.Mantovana well out of reach of Treviglio shooting 70.1 percent from the field and made 81-of-85 charity shots (95.3 percent) during the game. P.Mantovana forced 19 Treviglio turnovers and outrebounded them 97-79 including a 62-50 advantage in defensive rebounds. P.Mantovana shot the lights out from three nailing 43 long-distance shots on high 74.1 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 35 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Treviglio's players. They brought some defensive toughness making 23 blocks. 82 personal fouls committed by Treviglio helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was naturalized American guard Mike Nardi (186-85, college: Villanova) who scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Luca Pignatti (195-86) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds.
