Regular Season Round 31: Qingdao E. - Foshan LL 120-122

Eighteenth-ranked Qingdao Eagles (4-27) gave a tough game to fifteenth ranked Foshan (10-21). The visitors from Foshan managed to secure only two-point victory 122-120. However their fans expected easier game. Qingdao Eagles were ahead by 8 points after three quarters before a 37-27 charge of Foshan, which allowed them to win the game. They made 27-of-33 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Foshan forced 19 Qingdao Eagles turnovers. 26 personal fouls committed by Qingdao Eagles helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Lance Thomas (203-88, college: Duke) who helped to win the game recording 34 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. Forward Xuhang Zhu (207-93) contributed with 28 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Five Foshan players scored in double figures. Palestinian center Sani Sakakini (204-88) answered with 28 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) and Nigerian-American point guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: CS Fullerton) added 38 points (!!!) and 4 assists in the effort for Qingdao Eagles. Foshan maintains fifteenth place with 10-21 record. Qingdao Eagles lost their fourth game in a row. They stay dead last with 27 lost games. Foshan's next round opponent will be higher ranked Jiangsu Dragons (#11) in Nanjing and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Qingdao Eagles will play on the road against Liaoning Hunters (#8) in Yingkou and hope to win that game.
