Regular Season Round 21: Mitsubishi K. - Hitachi Cougars 90-71

Very expected game in Nagoya where 10th ranked Hitachi Cougars (4-17) were rolled over by sixth ranked Mitsubishi K. (13-8) 90-71 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Mitsubishi K.. Hitachi Cougars managed to win fourth quarter 31-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Mitsubishi K. looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Hitachi Cougars' players. Center Kanae Huzii (180-86) stepped up and scored 21 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and international center Enjin Wantsu (189-87) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Aiko Ishihara (178-92) with 17 points and 8 rebounds and guard Kasumi Takahashi (167-87) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Mitsubishi K. maintains sixth place with 13-8 record. Loser Hitachi Cougars keep the tenth position with 17 games lost. Mitsubishi K. will meet at home Aishin Wings (#9) in the next round. Hitachi Cougars will play against Toyota B SR in Aichi and hope to secure a win.
