Very expected game when 11th ranked Bnei Hasharon (5-13) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Hapoel Eilat (10-8) 104-97 on Monday. The best player for the winners was American swingman Kevin Palmer (198-87, college: Texas A&M-CC) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). The former international point guard Afik Nissim (186-81) chipped in 30 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized Romanian Dan Grunfeld (198-84, college: Stanford) who recorded 28 points (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and American power forward Jakim Donaldson (204-83, college: Edinboro) added 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks respectively. Five Hapoel Eilat and four Bnei Hasharon players scored in double figures. Hapoel Eilat moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Ironi Nes-Ziona. Bnei Hasharon lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Hapoel Eilat will meet at home league's second-placed Maccabi T-A in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Bnei Hasharon will play against Maccabi Rishon (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
