Regular Season Round 41: Huracanes - Fuerza Regia 87-88

The most exciting game of round 41 in the LNBP took place in Tampico. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 7th ranked Huracanes (20-18) to sixth ranked Fuerza Regia (22-16) 88-87 in the game for the sixth place. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 22-19 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Fuerza Regia looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American center Kentrell Gransberry (206-85, college: S.Florida) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and Cuban point guard Reynaldo Garcia (187-90) chipped in 8 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists. American center Elbert Fuqua (211-83, college: UTSA) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import guard Greg Preer (191, college: Ashland) scored 21 points and 4 assists. Four Fuerza Regia and five Huracanes players scored in double figures. Fuerza Regia maintains sixth place with 22-16 record. Huracanes at the other side keep the seventh position with 18 games lost. Fuerza Regia are looking forward to face Gigantes (#11) in Toluca in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Huracanes will play on the road against Soles (#3) in Mexicali and are hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
