Regular Season Round 21: Mahram - Petrochimi 61-78

The game between closely ranked teams ended with leader Petrochimi's (23-0) road victory over second-best Mahram (20-3) 78-61 on Monday. They outrebounded Mahram 39-27 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international forward Arsalan Kazemi (200-90, college: Oregon) stepped up and scored 20 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and international Hamed Afagh (193-83) chipped in 14 points and 4 assists. Petrochimi's coach Mehran Hatami used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was the former international power forward Mousa Nabipour (211-83) with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and the former international forward Arman Zangeneh (203-93) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Petrochimi have an impressive series of twenty three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 23-0 record. Defending champion Mahram keeps the second position with three games lost.
