Regular Season Round 29: Lille - Orchy 91-62
Date: February 11, 2014
We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when eighteenth ranked Lille Metropole (8-21) rolled over at home bottom-ranked Orchesien BC (8-21) 91-62 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Lille Metropole. Orchesien BC was better in second period 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lille Metropole looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Orchesien BC's players. Benoit Gillet (190-86) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists. point guard Aurelien Rigaux (176-88) contributed with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Five Lille Metropole players scored in double figures. American forward Marc Salyers (205-79, college: Samford) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import point guard Austen Rowland (186-81, college: Lehigh, agency: Court Side) added 8 points and 5 assists in the effort for Orchesien BC. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lille Metropole moved-up to seventeenth place, which they share with Orchy. Orchesien BC lost fourth consecutive game. Lille Metropole will face higher ranked Denain Voltaire (#12) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Orchesien BC will play against Souffelweyersheim (#11) and hope to win that game.
