Regular Season Round 28: St.Francis X. - Cape Breton 49-60

Very important is a home loss of second ranked St.Francis X. (8-8) against fifth ranked Cape Breton (8-9) on Tuesday night. Host St.Francis X. was defeated by Cape Breton in Antigonish 60-49. The game was mostly controlled by Cape Breton. St.Francis X. managed to win fourth quarter 16-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cape Breton forced 23 St.Francis X. turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Colleen Keane (175) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American point guard Tanira McClurkin (165) who added 16 points during the contest. At the losing side center Kolbi Roper (188) responded with 14 points and 5 rebounds and forward Lindsay Lessard (183) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Cape Breton moved-up to fourth place, which they share with UPEI. Loser St.Francis X. keeps the second position with eight games lost. They share it with Dalhousie. Cape Breton will meet at home higher ranked Dalhousie (#3) in the next round and it may be the game of the week. St.Francis X. will play against Acadia and hope to secure a win.
