Regular Season Round 32: Liaoning H. - Qingdao E. 121-110

Date: February 12, 2014
Very predictable result in Yingkou where eighth ranked Liaoning Hunters (18-14) beat bottom-ranked Qingdao Eagles (4-28) 121-110. The game was mostly controlled by Liaoning Hunters. Qingdao Eagles was better in third quarter 32-28. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Qingdao Eagles 45-33 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by Qingdao Eagles helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The winners were led by the former international guard Ming Yang (193-85) who scored that evening 25 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals and American forward Hakim Warrick (204-82, college: Syracuse) supported him with 27 points and 5 rebounds. Even 23 points and 9 rebounds by American-Puerto Rican center Peter Ramos (222-85) did not help to save the game for Qingdao Eagles. Nigerian-American point guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: CS Fullerton) added 20 points and 7 assists for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Qingdao Eagles' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Liaoning Hunters maintains eighth position with 18-14 record. Qingdao Eagles lost fifth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 28 lost games. Liaoning Hunters' next round opponent will be Jiangsu Dragons (#11) in Nanjing. Qingdao Eagles will play at home against Jilin Tigers (#14) and hope to win that game.
