Regular Season Round 23: KR - Hamar 68-85

The most shocking disappointment of round 23 was a home defeat of 5th ranked KR (9-14) by sixth ranked Hamar (10-13) who outscored them by 17 points 85-68 in the game for the fifth place. The game without a history. Hamar led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great evening for American point guard Chelsie Schweers (170-89, college: Chris.Newport) who led her team to a victory scoring 37 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. Guard Marin Laufey Davidsdottir (172-94) helped adding 12 points, 17 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international power forward Sigrun Amundadottir (181-88) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and American swingman Ebone Henry (178-91, college: Albany) scored 24 points and 5 rebounds. KR's coach Yngvi Gunnlaugsson rotated twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Hamar moved-up to fifth place. KR at the other side dropped to the sixth position with 14 games lost. Hamar are looking forward to face league's leader Snaefell in Stykkisholmur in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. KR will play on the road against Njardvik (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
