The game between closely ranked teams ended with 10th ranked Afra Fars' (6-17) road loss to ninth ranked Esteghlal (8-15) 69-87 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Esteghlal. Afra Fars was better in third quarter 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Montenegrin point guard Ivan Koljevic (187-84) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 5 rebounds and 13 assists for the winners and power forward Hadizadeh Sina (204-92) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. Esteghlal's coach Boban Mitev used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was power forward Hossein Rahmati (203-93) with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and Croatian point guard Luka Petkovic (190-88) scored 17 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Esteghlal have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to eighth place. Afra Fars lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the tenth position with 17 games lost.
