Rather predictable result in Bandar Imam where leader Petrochimi (23-0) smashed 5th ranked Foolad Mahan (12-11) 85-66 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Petrochimi. Foolad Mahan was better in fourth quarter 24-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Petrochimi forced 26 Foolad Mahan turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Foolad Mahan's players. International Hamed Afagh (193-83) stepped up and scored 23 points and 4 steals for the winners and center Masoud Soleimani (207) chipped in 10 points and 13 rebounds. Four Petrochimi players scored in double figures. Petrochimi's coach Mehran Hatami used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was center Mohammad Torabi (211-92) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and the former international point guard Mohammad Reza Falahat (180-91) scored 26 points. Petrochimi have an impressive series of twenty three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 23-0 record. Foolad Mahan lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 11 games lost.
