Regular Season Round 17: Njardvik - KR 74-83

An interesting game for KR (16-1) which played road game in Njardvik against 4th placed Njardvik (11-6). Second ranked KR managed to get a 9-point victory 83-74. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Njardvik. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-74. The former international Helgi Magnusson (197-82, college: Catawba) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international guard Pavel Ermolinskij (202-87) contributed with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. American forward Tracy Smith (203-89, college: N.Carolina St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and forward Hjoertur Einarsson (194-89) added 10 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Njardvik. Five KR and four Njardvik players scored in double figures. KR have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Keflavik. Njardvik at the other side keeps the fourth place with six games lost. KR is looking forward to face league's second-placed Keflavik at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Njardvik will play against Haukar in Hafnarfjordur and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
