Very important is a road loss of third ranked Burgos (13-6) against eleventh ranked Melilla Baloncesto (7-12) on Friday night. Visiting Burgos was defeated by Melilla Baloncesto in a tough game in Melilla 89-95. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Burgos. Burgos was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. It was a good game for American power forward Jonathan Durley (203-88, college: Wichita St.) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Power forward Devin Wright (203-86) contributed with 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five Melilla Baloncesto players scored in double figures. Josep Ortega (201-84) replied with 19 points and American-Dominican forward Antonio Pena (204-86, college: Villanova) added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Burgos. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Melilla Baloncesto maintains eleventh position with 7-12 record. Burgos at the other side keeps the third place with six games lost. Melilla Baloncesto will again play against higher ranked Burgos (#3) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Burgos will have a break next round.
