Regular Season Round 35: Eco Orebro - Boras 88-101
Date: February 14, 2014
Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Eco Orebro (5-23) was defeated at home by second ranked Boras Basket (24-4) 101-88 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Boras Basket. Eco Orebro was better in fourth quarter 29-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Strangely Eco Orebro outrebounded Boras Basket 37-22 including a 17-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for the former international center Michael Palm (209-79, college: W.Washington, agency: R.H.Consultancy) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). American Christopher McKnight (201-87, college: Akron) helped adding 23 points (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Boras Basket's coach Pat Ryan used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Ronnie Boggs (193-91, college: Jacksonville St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and Bosnian Nebojsa Pavlovic (200-87) scored 20 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Five Boras Basket and four Eco Orebro players scored in double figures. Boras Basket maintains second place with 24-4 record behind leader Sodertalje. Eco Orebro at the other side keeps the ninth position with 23 games lost. Boras Basket will face KFUM Jamtland (#8) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Eco Orebro will play against Uppsala Basket and hope to win that game.
