Bottom-ranked Qingdao Eagles managed to get a fifth victory, breaking the series of five consecutive loses on Friday night. This time they won against fourteenth-ranked Jilin Tigers 116-102. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 116-102. Qingdao Eagles dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to Jilin Tigers' 54. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for American-Puerto Rican center Peter Ramos (222-85) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds. Palestinian center Sani Sakakini (204-88) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 16 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners. American forward Leon Rodgers (201-80, college: N.Illinois) answered with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import power forward Denzel Bowles (208-89, college: JMU) added 32 points and 5 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) in the effort for Jilin Tigers. Five Qingdao Eagles and four Jilin Tigers players scored in double figures. Qingdao Eagles maintains eighteenth place with 5-28 record. Jilin Tigers lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 22 games lost. They share it with Foshan LL. Qingdao Eagles are looking forward to face higher ranked Shandong Bulls (#9) in Jinan in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Jilin Tigers will play at home against Jiangsu Dragons (#11) and are hoping to win this game.
