Regular Season Round 21: Kerava - ToPo 85-65

The game between third ranked Torpan Pojat (13-6) and seventh ranked Kerava Energia Team (7-12) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Torpan Pojat was crushed by Kerava Energia Team in Kerava 65-85. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Torpan Pojat. The game without a history. Kerava Energia Team led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Torpan Pojat to just 5 points in third quarter. It was a good game for Italian-Ghanian point guard Rosetta Adzasu (165-90, college: Washington St.) who led her team to a victory with 31 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. American forward Mollie Williams (187, college: Washington) contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 17 rebounds for the winners. Four Kerava Energia Team players scored in double figures. Kerava Energia Team's coach Esa Maki-Tulokas used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international power forward Laura Saarinen (187-92) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds and Venlakaisa Holtta (175-84) added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Torpan Pojat. Kerava Energia Team have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place. Torpan Pojat at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. Kerava Energia Team are looking forward to face higher ranked HoNsU (#4) in Jyvaskyla in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Torpan Pojat will play at home against the league's leader Catz Lappeenranta and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
