A very interesting game took place in Bydgoszcz. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 9th ranked Stal Ostrow (9-11) to tenth ranked Astoria Bydg. (6-14) 64-61 on Saturday evening. It looked good early as Stal Ostrow took an 5-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Astoria Bydg. had a 19-13 second period charge getting the lead and Stal Ostrow was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 61-64. Guard Piotr Robak (192-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points. Mateusz Bierwagen (196-88, agency: Promotex) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Power forward Tomasz Andrzejewski (204-79) replied with 12 points and 8 rebounds and center Wojciech Zurawski (205-76) added 4 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Stal Ostrow. Astoria Bydg. have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain tenth position with 6-14 record. Stal Ostrow at the other side keeps the ninth place with 11 games lost. Astoria Bydg.'s next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Znicz Basket (#14) in Pruszkow.
