Regular Season Round 19: Sudety - GTK Gliwice 82-66

There was a change at the 2Liga leadership position after last games. Round 19 most important game was a defeat of league's leader GTK Gliwice (17-2). They were defeated by sixth ranked Sudety (11-8) 82-66 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of GTK Gliwice. The game without a history. Sudety led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 25-of-29 free shots (86.2 percent) during the game. Sudety forced 21 GTK Gliwice turnovers. 26 personal fouls committed by GTK Gliwice helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for forward Jakub Czech (203-84, agency: Promotex) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 6 rebounds. point guard Michal Kozak (179-92) helped adding 16 points, 5 assists and 4 steals (made all of his eight free throws). Five Sudety players scored in double figures. At the losing side Artur Grygiel (187-88) responded with 21 points and Mariusz Piotrkowski (198-84) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sudety have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place in Group B, which they share with Pogon Prudnik. GTK Gliwice at the other side dropped to the second position with two games lost. They share it with GKS Tychy. They were replaced at the leadership position by SKK Siedlce. GTK Gliwice will play next round against league's leader GKS Tychy trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Sudety will try to continue on its current victory against twelfth ranked Gimbasket Wroclaw on the road.
