Regular Season Round 5: Hoops - Champville 79-75

Hoops Club can celebrate their first win this season after four consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Champville (2-3) 79-75. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Champville won third quarter 22-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Hoops Club especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. American point guard Ashton Gibbs (188-90, college: Pittsburgh, agency: Interperformances) orchestrated the victory by scoring 30 points and 7 assists. His fellow American import power forward Bilal Dixon (206-90, college: Towson) contributed with 21 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Serbian power forward Vladan Vukosavljevic (206-84, agency: Beo Basket) answered with 22 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized American power forward Philip Tabet (205-87, college: S.Alabama) added 17 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Champville. Four Champville players scored in double figures. Hoops Club (1-4) left bottom position moving up to eighth place, which they share with Homenetm. B. Champville at the other side dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with Tadamon. Hoops Club will play against higher ranked Al Moutahed (#4) in Tripoli in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Champville will play at home against the league's second-placed Byblos and will have a slim chance for a victory.
