Regular Season Round 19: GTK Gdynia - Nowa Sol 60-70

Rather expected game when 7th ranked GTK Gdynia (7-9) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Nowa Sol (13-3) 70-60 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Nowa Sol. GTK Gdynia was better in third quarter 15-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for Marcin Chodkiewicz (200-82, agency: Promotex) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Nikodem Sirijatowicz (187-94) helped adding 16 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Nowa Sol's coach Boguslaw Onufrowicz used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side swingman Aleksander Lebiedzinski (200-93) responded with 9 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Mateusz Zolnierewicz (194-92) scored 10 points. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Nowa Sol. They moved-up to second place in Group A. Loser GTK Gdynia keeps the seventh position with nine games lost. Nowa Sol will face Notec (#3) in Inowroclaw in the next round, which may be the game of the day. GTK Gdynia will play on the road against Kalisz (#4) and hope to win that game.
