There was a minor upset in Starogard where 9th ranked AZS Koszalin (7-10) was defeated by eleventh ranked Polpharma (4-14) 85-81 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 46-37 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Polpharma looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. AZS Koszalin was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American Kevin Johnson (201-84, college: Humboldt St., agency: Hart Sports Mngm) had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Lithuanian point guard Ovidijus Varanauskas (187-91) chipped in 18 points and 4 assists during the contest. Four Polpharma players scored in double figures. Polpharma's coach Tomasz Jankowski used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American guard Sek Henry (193-87, college: Nebraska) with 33 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 5 assists and his fellow American import LaceDarius Dunn (193-87, college: Baylor, agency: Three Eye Sports) scored 19 points. Polpharma moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Stabill Jezioro. AZS Koszalin at the other side keeps the ninth position with ten games lost. Polpharma will face higher ranked Anwil (#4) in Wloclawek in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
