NBL top team - Aishin Sea Horses (30-4) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fifth ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (10-24) in Tokyo 88-64. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hitachi Sunrockers. The game without a history. Aishin Sea Horses led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Hitachi Sunrockers' 40. Aishin Sea Horses forced 21 Hitachi Sunrockers turnovers. American power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and international swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) chipped in 23 points (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) during the contest. The best for the losing side was American power forward Jamar Smith (206-80, college: Maryland) with 11 points and 7 rebounds and the former international power forward Joji Takeuchi (207-85, agency: N.E.T.) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Aishin Sea Horses maintains first position with 30-4 record. Hitachi Sunrockers at the other side keep the fifth place with 24 games lost. Aishin Sea Horses will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Hitachi Sunrockers will play again at home against the league's leader Aishin Sea Horses (#1) and hope to get back on the winning track.
