Regular Season Round 22: Saint-Brieuc - Sorgues 60-66

There was no surprise when 15th ranked Saint-Brieuc (6-16) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Sorgues BC (14-8) 66-60 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Sorgues BC forced 19 Saint-Brieuc turnovers. American forward Aaron Broussard (195-90, college: Seattle) fired 8 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. point guard Julien Sauret (184-81) chipped in 9 points and 4 assists. point guard Antoine Liorel (180-89) produced 14 points and 5 rebounds and swingman A'Nsi Lema (197-84) added 11 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Four Saint-Brieuc players scored in double figures. Saint-Brieuc's coach Denis Mettay tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Sorgues BC moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Vichy. Saint-Brieuc lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifteenth position with 16 games lost. Sorgues BC will face Lourdes-Tarbes (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Saint-Brieuc will play against Saint Chamond and hope to win that game.
