The game in Chiba was also quite interesting. Third ranked Mitsubishi Dolphins (18-16) played at the court of 6th ranked Chiba Jets (9-25). Mitsubishi Dolphins managed to secure a 6-point victory 83-77 on Saturday. Chiba Jets were trailing by 9 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 19-12 charge of Mitsubishi Dolphins, which allowed them to win the game. Senegalese-French forward Amath M'Baye (206-89, college: Oklahoma) notched 38 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international guard Kei Igarashi (180-80) supported him with 9 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Even a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds by American forward Alan Wiggins (206-85, college: USF) did not help to save the game for Chiba Jets. His fellow American import forward Chris Braswell (206-89, college: Charlotte) added 12 points and 11 rebounds. Four Chiba Jets players scored in double figures. Mitsubishi Dolphins maintains third position with 18-16 record having seven points less than leader Aishin SH. Newly promoted Chiba Jets keep the sixth place with 25 games lost. Mitsubishi Dolphins will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Chiba Jets will play again against Mitsubishi Dolphins (#3) and hope to secure a win.
