No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Oita Heat Devils (15-18) smashed at home 8th ranked Yokohama BC (14-17) 94-75 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Oita Heat Devils. Yokohama BC was better in fourth quarter 26-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Oita Heat Devils dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Yokohama BC's 26. It was a great shooting night for Oita Heat Devils especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Guard Taishiro Shimizu (183-81) fired 32 points, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. American forward Devonne Giles (203-83, college: Texas Tech) chipped in a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds. American power forward Marquise Gray (206-86, college: Michigan St.) produced 18 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Masayuki Kabaya (183-82) added 19 points respectively for lost side. Oita Heat Devils maintains fifth place with 15-18 record. Loser Yokohama BC dropped to the seventh position with 17 games lost. Oita Heat Devils will face again Yokohama BC (#8) at home in the next round.
