An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Athens. Third ranked Proteas faced their biggest opponent Panathinaikos. Guests from Voula (13-4) defeated host Panathinaikos (12-4) 62-49. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The former international forward Katerina Sotiriou (186-84) fired 12 points for the winners. Lolita Limoura chipped in 10 points. American power forward Diana Delva (188-88, college: Hartford) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds and naturalized American guard Jacki Gemelos (182-88, college: USC) added 11 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks respectively for lost side. Proteas have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Defending champion Panathinaikos dropped to the third position with four games lost. Proteas are looking forward to face PAOK (#7) in Thessaloniki in the next round where they are favorite. Panathinaikos will play on the road against the league's leader AE Ellinikou (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
