Second Stage Round 7: Eurosped - Binnenland 65-70

Bottom-ranked Eurosped (0-7) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 70-65 loss to third ranked Binnenland (4-2) in Tubbergen. They also forced 29 Eurosped turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Leonie Kooij (187-86) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 9 rebounds. International forward Eline Kasius (190-92) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Binnenland players scored in double figures. The former international forward Marianne Van der Hoek (180-90) answered with 24 points and 6 rebounds and center Merlin Lammerink (186-95) added 11 points in the effort for Eurosped. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Binnenland maintains third place with 4-2 record behind leader ProBuild Lions, which they share with CTO. Newly promoted Eurosped still closes the standings with seven games lost. Binnenland will play against higher ranked Loon Lions in Landsmeer in the next round. Eurosped will play on the road against Grasshoppers (#5) in Katwijk and hopes to get finally their first victory.
