The game between second ranked Peli-Karhut (15-3) and 9th ranked Forssan Alku (2-17) in Kotka on Saturday ended with biggest points difference. Peli-Karhut outscored guests from Forssa 105-75. The game was mostly controlled by Peli-Karhut. Forssan Alku was better in fourth quarter 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Forssan Alku 43-30 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Peli-Karhut shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 65.2 percentage. It was a good game for the former international center Taru Tuukkanen (192-77, college: Xavier, agency: Regeneracom Sports) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. The former international point guard Reetta Piipari (170-80, college: Xavier) contributed with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Five Peli-Karhut players scored in double figures. The former international forward Sanna Helenius (180-84, college: Valparaiso) answered with 21 points and American forward Telia McCall (185-90, college: Virginia) added 17 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Forssan Alku. Peli-Karhut maintains second place with 15-3 record having seven points less than leader Catz. Forssan Alku lost their eleventh game in a row. Loser Forssan Alku stay at the bottom position with 17 games lost. Peli-Karhut will face Tapiolan Honka (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Forssan Alku will play against Tapiolan Honka and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
