Second Stage Round 2: Berezina - Victoria 67-47

An exciting game was played in Borisovo. Berezina-RCOR faced Victoria. Host Berezina-RCOR (5-1) smashed guests from Grodno (0-6) 67-47. The game was mostly controlled by Berezina-RCOR. Victoria was better in fourth quarter 20-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Victoria to just 5 points in second quarter. Berezina-RCOR made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Victoria turnovers. Forward Yuliya Haponava (187-94) notched a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Viktoriya Pankova (184-93) supported her with 20 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Four Berezina-RCOR players scored in double figures. Berezina-RCOR's coach Andrey Vavlev allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 20 points by forward Hanna Tsarevich (178-95) did not help to save the game for Victoria. Vialetta Kivlyak added 6 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. Berezina-RCOR's next round opponent will be again Victoria (#4) in Grodno.
