Regular Season Round 22: Mitsubishi K. - Aishin AW 54-52

Rather expected game when 9th ranked Aishin Wings (6-16) were edged by sixth ranked Mitsubishi K. (14-8) in Nagoya 54-52 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 54-52. Mitsubishi K. forced 22 Aishin Wings turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of international center Enjin Wantsu (189-87) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 7 rebounds. International swingman Michiko Miyamoto (175-86) contributed with 12 points for the winners. Power forward Kiyoko Hamaguti (181-90) replied with 8 points and 10 rebounds and power forward Shiyu Sato (178-87) added 11 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Aishin Wings. Mitsubishi K. maintains sixth position with 14-8 record. Aishin Wings at the other side keep the ninth place with 16 games lost. Mitsubishi K. will face Niigata (#8) in Tokyo in the next round. Aishin Wings will play at home against the league's second-placed Denso Iris and hope to win that game.
