Very expected game in Cancun where 13th ranked Correcaminos (8-32) were defeated by third ranked Pioneros (30-10) 79-70. Pioneros players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Correcaminos' players. The former international forward Hector Hernandez (206-85, college: Fresno St.) notched a double-double by scoring 24 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and American-Puerto Rican point guard Denis Clemente (183-86, college: Kansas St.) supported him with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Pioneros' coach Manuel Cintron allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 22 points and 9 rebounds by American forward Sam Coleman (208-87, college: Coppin St.) did not help to save the game for Correcaminos. The former international guard Forrest Fisher (193-80) added 15 points. Pioneros maintains third position with 30-10 record having just three points less than leader Halc.Rojos. Correcaminos lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth place with 32 games lost.
