Regular Season Round 31: Hokkaido L. - Wakayama T. 96-104 OT

Hokkaido L. (#3) forced the game against Wakayama T. (#2) into an overtime, but lost by eight points 96-104 on Sunday night. The game took place in Saporro. But the guests from Wakayama were better at the end. Hokkaido L. was tied after three quarters and then recorded another tie at the end of regular time. They were eventually defeated in overtime 7-15s. Wakayama T. made 25-of-33 free shots (75.8 percent) during the game. Wakayama T. outrebounded Hokkaido L. 38-26 including 16 on the offensive glass. Hokkaido L. was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) who helped to win the game recording 32 points and 7 rebounds. The former international guard Takuya Kawamura (193-86) contributed with 32 points for the winners. Wakayama T.'s coach Zeljko Pavlicevic used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: KMG Sports Management) answered with 34 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and the other American import power forward Jameel Watkins (211-77, college: Georgetown) added 24 points, 12 rebounds and 6 blocks in the effort for Hokkaido L.Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Wakayama T. maintains second place with 24-9 record having six points less than leader Aishin SH. Hokkaido L. at the other side dropped to the fourth position with 15 games lost. Wakayama T. will face Chiba Jets (#6) at home in the next round. Hokkaido L. will play against Tsukuba R. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
