Very expected game in Kolobrzeg where 12th ranked Kotwica (3-15) was defeated by third ranked Trefl Sopot (14-4) 72-59 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Trefl Sopot. Kotwica was better in second period 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The former international Pawel Leonczyk (202-86) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American center Bertengeh Gadri-Nicholson (208-83, college: Denver) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Five Trefl Sopot players scored in double figures. Trefl Sopot's coach Darius Maskoliunas used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American point guard Jordan Callahan (184-90, college: Tulane) with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import power forward Terell Parks (204-91, college: W.Illinois) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 17 rebounds. Trefl Sopot have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with PGE Turow. Kotwica lost seventh consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Trefl Sopot will face Energa Czarni (#5) in Slupsk in the next round. Kotwica will play on the road against AZS Koszalin (#9) and hope to win that game.
