Regular Season Round 20: Tromso - Centrum 82-61
Date: February 16, 2014
No shocking result in a game when third ranked Tromso (11-5) crushed at home bottom-ranked Centrum (1-17) 82-61. The game was mostly controlled by Tromso. Centrum was better in third quarter 24-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Centrum 40-21 including 27 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Mike St.John (203-84, college: La Salle, agency: Global Sports Plaza) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points and 18 rebounds and Bulgarian guard Galin Mihaylov (189-80) who added 12 points during the contest. St.John is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Tromso's coach Kenneth Webb felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international forward Miilah Kombat (198-88, college: N.Idaho JC) responded with 22 points and forward Isak Petter Brodahl (197-89) scored 15 points. Tromso moved-up to second place, which they share with Ammerud Bskt. Centrum lost ninth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 17 lost games. Tromso will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Centrum will play at home against Baerum Basket (#5) to get more than just one victory in their record.
