Very expected game when 7th ranked Umana Venezia (9-10) was defeated on the road by second ranked Enel Brindisi (14-5) 88-78 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Enel Brindisi. Umana Venezia managed to win third quarter 19-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Enel Brindisi forced 24 Umana Venezia turnovers. It was a great evening for American guard Jerome Dyson (191-87, college: Connecticut) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points, 8 assists and 6 steals. American-Guyanese forward Delroy James (203-87, college: Rhode Island) helped adding 9 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Umana Venezia lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with ten games lost. They share the position with JuveCaserta and Grissin Bon RE. Enel Brindisi will meet Trenkwalder RE (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Umana Venezia will play against Montepaschi Siena and hope to secure a win.
