Everything went according to plan when second ranked Toyota Alvark (27-8) outplayed 5th ranked Tsukuba R. (6-29) in Tokyo 89-51 on Sunday. The game without a history. Toyota Alvark led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Tsukuba R.'s 32. They outrebounded Tsukuba R. 46-25 including a 34-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for American forward Philip Ricci (202-80, college: Oregon St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Devin Uskoski (201-85, college: Rocky Mountain) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Four Toyota Alvark players scored in double figures. American power forward Lamar Sanders (198-84, college: Lamar) answered with 10 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Kazuyuki Nakagawa (180-82) added 11 points in the effort for Tsukuba R.The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Toyota Alvark have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place with 27-8 record having just one point less than leader Aishin SH. Tsukuba R. lost tenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifth position with 29 games lost. Toyota Alvark will face league's leader Aishin Sea Horses in Kariya in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tsukuba R. will play at home against Hokkaido L. (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
