There was a minor upset when 7th ranked GECR Indalo (9-10) lost to tenth ranked Argentino (9-11) in Junin 60-70 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 70-60. Argentino made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. GECR Indalo was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Marcus Melvin (205-82, college: N.Carolina St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 17 rebounds. Naturalized Italian swingman Juan Cangelosi (197-81) contributed with 17 points for the winners. American center Sam Clancy (202-80, college: USC) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Byron Johnson (201-80, college: Belm.Abbey) added 15 points in the effort for GECR Indalo. Argentino have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Quilmes MP. Loser GECR Indalo keeps the seventh position with ten games lost. Argentino will face bottom-ranked La Union (#16) in Formosa in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
