Everything went according to plan in Urumqi where second ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (26-8) beat 5th ranked TianJin Steel (20-14) 105-93 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Xinjiang Flying Tige. TianJin Steel was better in second period 24-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Xinjiang Flying Tige made 29-of-35 free shots (82.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 TianJin Steel turnovers. TianJin Steel was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American Lester Hudson (190-84, college: Tenn-Martin, agency: Priority Sports) scored 32 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward James Singleton (203-81, college: Murray St.) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds during the contest (made all of his eight free throws). Five Xinjiang Flying Tige players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Shelden Williams (206-83, college: Duke) responded with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds (on 12-of-13 shooting from the field) and Jordanian forward Zaid Abbas (203-83) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Xinjiang Flying Tige maintains second position with 26-8 record having four points less than leader Guangdong ST. Loser TianJin Steel dropped to the sixth place with 14 games lost.
