Bnei Hasharon (6-13) survived in overtime against Maccabi Rishon (6-13) by five points 84-79. Maccabi Rishon was ahead by 3 points after three quarters before a 15-12 charge of Bnei Hasharon, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 11-6. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Stanley Burrell (191-84) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 7 assists. Power forward Frank Hassell (203-88, college: ODU) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. point guard Davin White (186-81, college: CS Northridge) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists and forward Tasmin Mitchell (201-86, college: LSU) added 21 points and 4 assists in the effort for Maccabi Rishon. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bnei Hasharon moved-up to tenth place, which they share with defeated Maccabi Rishon. Bnei Hasharon will play against higher ranked Hapoel Holon (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Maccabi Rishon will play against Hapoel Eilat and hopes to get back on the winning track.
