No shocking result in a game when third ranked Mitsubishi Dolphins (19-16) beat on the road 6th ranked Chiba Jets (9-26) 85-79 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 85-79. Strangely Chiba Jets outrebounded Mitsubishi Dolphins 46-34 including a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Mitsubishi Dolphins made 8 blocks. Chiba Jets were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for Senegalese-French forward Amath M'Baye (206-89, college: Oklahoma) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international guard Kei Igarashi (180-80) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Mitsubishi Dolphins' coach Antonio Lang allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Chris Braswell (206-89, college: Charlotte) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks and the other American import forward Alan Wiggins (206-85, college: USF) added 16 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Chiba Jets. Four Chiba Jets players scored in double figures. Mitsubishi Dolphins maintains third place with 19-16 record having nine points less than leader Aishin SH. Newly promoted Chiba Jets keep the sixth position with 26 games lost. Mitsubishi Dolphins will face league's leader Toshiba Thunders in Kanagawa in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Chiba Jets will play on the road against the league's second-placed Wakayama T. (#2) and hope to win that game.
