Second Stage Round 3: Viterbo - Civitanova 60-58

There was a minor upset when Civitanova (1-2) was edged on the road by Viterbo (1-2) 60-58 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 60-58. It was a good game for Czech center Martina Rejchova (195-83) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 18 rebounds. Guard Eleonora Lascala (175-82) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Guard Veronica Perini (175-88) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and Latvian forward Ieva Veinberga (185-84) added 12 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Civitanova. Viterbo will face Team Crema at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Civitanova will play against Salerno and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
