Regular Season Round 16: Ikaros - PAOK 70-54

Bottom-ranked Ikaros managed to get a third victory, breaking the ten-game losing streak. This time they won against seventh-ranked PAOK in Glyfada 70-54. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 16-point difference proves that Ikaros was well-prepared to that game. Ikaros outrebounded PAOK 46-35 including a 35-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Dimitra Giannakopoulou (180-81) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 9 rebounds. American guard Hailey Dunham (188-87, college: USC, agency: Merit Management Group) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four Ikaros players scored in double figures. Serbian power forward Milena Vukicevic (188-80) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and guard Dimitra Telidou (170-80) added 15 points in the effort for PAOK. Ikaros maintains tenth position with 3-14 record. PAOK at the other side dropped to the sixth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Athinaikos. Ikaros will play against higher ranked Ippokratis (#4) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. PAOK will play against the league's second-placed Proteas having rather not much hope for a victory.
