Regular Season Round 23: Chanson V-M - Toyota B SR 54-51

Seventh-ranked Toyota B SR (9-14) gave a tough game to third ranked Chanson V-M (18-5) in Shizuoka on Sunday. Chanson V-M managed to secure only three-point victory 54-51. However their fans expected much easier game. Toyota B SR was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. It was a great evening for forward Sanae Motokawa (175-92) who led her team to a victory scoring 11 points and 6 rebounds. The former international swingman Saori Fujiyoshi (178-87) helped adding 9 points and 8 rebounds. Power forward Sakiko Nomachi (175-87) responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and power forward Sari Osabe (174-87) scored 5 points and 13 rebounds. Chanson V-M have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 18-5 record having just three points less than leader JX Sunflowers, which they share with Toyota A. Toyota B SR at the other side keeps the seventh position with 14 games lost. Chanson V-M is looking forward to face Aishin Wings (#9) in Anjo in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Toyota B SR will play on the road against the league's second-placed Denso Iris in Kariya and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
